Sorry about the video, it was an attempt to be artistic and as it turns out i’m no spielberg.  I do do birthdays and bar-mitzvah’s however.

I made a poster in the BAD KARMA style for the kony2012 campaign.  I actually already posted one outside my Student Union but it was taken down already.  The QR code style would be irrelevant if it didn’t work so in the image I included a code which will take you straight to the kony2012 webpage.
My dream.  See this printed and used throughout the world for the campaign.  Bonus:  this campaign actually works.  Find out more at www.kony2012.com

Ooh they’re coming thick and fast.  My second completed experiment involved combining QR codes to make a larger image from.  Not all of the QR codes work, but that’s the point.  In fact if you scan the right one all you will get is a word.

That goes for all the pieces I intend to make.  But what may happen when you put those words together!? Ooohhhhh….

My first completed prototype QR Code installation.  Theoretically if I had enough glass panels I could make this as big and as long as I want :o

My first attempt at carpentry.  This video shows three stand I made that night that I will use for an installation piece for my work relating to QR codes.  I actually had a lot of fun making them.

Dissertation Deadline Day

Today is / was the Deadline Day for the first Draft of our Dissertation.  Overall I’m pleased.  First off, I have the the hand in in time, (a rarity in my line of work) and secondly I’m pleased with the outcome of my work as a whole.  I’m looking forward to the feedback we receive, if any, and eagerly await my criticisms.

Here’s a song I put together in an hour or two.  The lyrics are bare and it’s yet to recieve it’s beast solo injection, but neverhteless it’s something I did, so something worth blogging.

On other news, I’m waiting on news as to whether or not I’ll be heading to China at some point early this year.  I really hope I get to go, but if not then I’l be tiding myself over with some gentle skydiving.  Here’s to the New Year!

Obliteration Room

Not all Art get’s me these days, but I do like it when an artist involves his audience somehow.  Yayoi Kasama, over a period of two weeks got thousands of children to sticker a room he’d painted brilliantly white over the course of a few weeks.

The result is a room that one could barely even tell is a room anymore.  Like.

October

I’ve been playing around with logo ideas for what I’ve now put under the moniker ‘The Good Karma Company’ I’ve gone with a 70’s style typeface inspired by the strong hippy-esque concept behind my work, and the styles they embodied in their era, with a modern twist.  Below are two coloured examples.

September.
Here’s an image for a poster I’m creating.  It shows a man carrying the entire weight of his life and the world on his shoulders while another man watches on beguiled, asking ‘Why?’
The point of the image is that we don’t need to carry all that weight.
